Shoes and Hip Hop
Shoes have always been part of hip hop culture. From Run DMC's My Adidas, Slick Rick's Bally's, Snoop Dogg's Chuck Taylor's, Redman's Timberlands, to Souljah Boy's Bathin' Apes, shoes have said a lot about artists. Are they keepin' it real, West coast East coast, ghetto fabulous, *BLING BLING*?
Now, many hip hop artists even have their own shoes! Like Snoop Dogg said in "Drop It Like It's Hot", "Drive my own cars, and wear my own clothes(shoes)". We do need to credit Russell Simmons with the trend, when he kicked it all off with Phat Farm. Since then, we've had Rocawear G-Unit, Ecko, Sean Jean . . . the list goes on and on.
I think I have a pretty good list, but if you think of any new ones, please email me.
